We are running two innovative initiatives in Rajasthan and Gujarat to build leadership for educational and social change: School Leadership Programme (SLP) and Gandhi Fellowship (GF). Kaivalya Education Foundation is looking for practitioners who are interested in translating their knowledge and experience in language, math or arts to support others to work more effectively with children in Government Primary Schools. We are looking for teachers, trainers, curriculum designers and other practitioners who are interested in joining our team to create a comprehensive and holistic knowledge ‘centre’ for alternative teaching and learning processes in the areas of linguistics, literacy, languages, math, visual arts, puppetry, dramatics or music. This resource centre will inspire and encourage life-long learning in children through providing crucial support to Primary School Headmasters and their on-site supports; Gandhi Fellows to more effectively work with children and enhance their learning experiences. These Primary Headmasters are part of a 3 year in-service School Leadership Training programme that aims to build their capacity to lead change in the school environment. The programme is designed around 4 areas of leadership: instructional, institutional, social and personal. This knowledge centre supports the instructional component which allows Headmasters to experientially understand and develop skills to deliver (and support teachers to deliver) child–centred and activity-based teaching for primary classes. · We are looking for Language, Math and Art Practitioners (3 positions; Location: Ahmedabad; Job Code: PL-CE-02/10) who would be involved in curriculum design and knowledge creation for our headmaster programme. We need creative practitioners with around 7 years experience in innovative child-centred learning processes and who are able to translate their learnings to a new context. · Gandhi Fellowship and School Leadership Programme are initiatives of Kaivalya Education Foundation.
