Job Description	India HIV/AIDS Alliance invites talented professionals to join our team in Delhi IT Officer (Full-time) Introduction: Established in 1999, the India HIV/AIDS Alliance comprises a Secretariat in New Delhi, five lead partner organisations (the Linking Organisations within the global Alliance) and their networks of over 100 community-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community-based organisations (CBOs) across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra states, and a state partner in Manipur. The Alliance in India has supported over 120 community-based projects through its NGO and CBO partners to prevent HIV infection; improve access to HIV treatment, care and support; and lessen the impact of HIV. The last including reducing stigma and discrimination, particularly among the most vulnerable and marginalised communities key to the epidemic � sex workers, men who have sex with men (MSM), injecting drug users (IDUs) and adults and children living with and/or affected by HIV. Job Summary The IT Officer will be responsible for maintaining network and server resources for the smooth functioning of the IT infrastructure in Alliance India. S/he will maintain hardware/software resources; provide software help desk service for the Alliance staff; assess staff IT training requirements; and, provide training/individual support as appropriate. Key Responsibilities � Regularly monitor and ensure the proper functioning of servers, switches, routers, hubs, firewall and troubleshoot the server malfunctions. � Provide recommendations on the development of existing systems e.g. up gradation of server operating systems, server replacements, hardware and software updates. � Establishing and maintaining an appropriate level of secure connectivity between the Alliance local area networks. � Backing up all the Alliance servers on a daily basis and taking immediate corrective action when a back up has failed. � Establish appropriate disaster recovery procedures; and setup adequate back up systems for preventive maintenance; in order to ensure minimum downtime for the servers and associated hardwares and applications. � Ensure uninterrupted service in the e-mail management system through regular monitoring. � Establish and monitor event logs to ensure efficient running and security of all network devices. � Ensure virus signature files are regularly updated on all servers, desktops and laptops. � Ensure that all software is appropriately licensed and proper documentation of the organisation�s IT infrastructure records. � Provide day-to-day hardware/software related support to team members. � Responsible for the effective management of the various IT related outsourced services for the organisation � Maintain and administer all kinds of Annual maintenance contract for hard wares. � Identify training requirements of the team and enhance their IT skills, by providing training and also create training documentations as a resource for the team. � Support the Technical Support team in uploading documents/information in Alliance India�s Virtual Resource Centre � SETU; and the OVCSupport.net. � Provide support in developing additions/changes to the web site and document management systems and providing technical expertise in development of web applications. � Establishing regular contact with the IT team in UK Secretariat in implementing technology to provide two-way long distance technical support from the UK Secretariat to Alliance India. Essential requirements: � Degree /Diploma in IT (or equivalent) with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience � Minimum 2 years of experience in the development sector in the same filed. � Hands on experience in managing Windows Exchange server 2003; Firewall � Proven experience in computer hardware; managing networks, LAN/ WAN. � Excellent verbal and written skills. � Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently. � Ability and willingness to undertake travel, primarily within India. � Strong commitment to HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health and rights Fluent in English and Hindi. Desirable qualities/experience/skills: � Good understanding of development issues and the HIV epidemic(s) in India. � Knowledge in web designing/development The position requires a strong commitment to HIV and sexual and reproductive health and NGO activities in India, and a strong interest in and understanding the relevant issues This position involves regular contact with children and the Alliance India operates rigorous recruitment and selection procedures and check that reflect our commitment to the protection of children from abuse.
