Job Description	Job Description We are currently looking to hire an Administrator cum Accountant with greater than 5 years of progressively responsible experience in administration and professional accounting, preferably in the NGO sector. The Administrator cum Accountant will be responsible for monitoring and recording the flow of money, verifying the accuracy of all monetary and cash transactions, ensuring that all transactions are legal and as per ADR�s and other legal guidelines. Initially there would be a greater focus on administrative requirements like policy creation and policy implementation. Administrative Responsibilities: 1. Ensuring that proper accounting procedures are in place to support the strategic plans and programme activities of ADR, 2. Assist the management in preparing and managing operating and capital budgets, 3. Assist in the preparation of project proposals, appraisals (of project proposals) and various kinds of reports (quarterly, final and project closure), 4. Prepare regular variance reports between approved amount and actual expenditure, 5. Control the accounting systems to monitor the budgets and actual expenditures against all funding sources, 6. Prepare reports and information needed by donors, 7. Facilitate the statutory and donor specific audits, 8. Supporting the planning and management of the annual audit process, 9. Liaison with external institutions (Government, Banks, Tax departments, Chartered Accountant...) regarding financial & legal matters, 10. Advising and assisting in all tasks related to contractual commitment of the organization like registration, leave and license agreements, etc., 11. Various other administrative activities including in helping out in organizing events & meetings Accounting Responsibilities: 1. Maintain petty cash and following up cash flows 2. Manage travel and other advances, banking transactions and monthly accounting functions in relation to reconciliation of cash and books 3. Record expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the books of accounts; 4. Prepare payment vouchers and corresponding checks; 5. Prepare payroll and other regular payments with due consideration to deductions (for advances, loans, taxes, etc); 6. Ensure proper allocation of expenses to all field projects. 7. Prepares monthly bank reconciliations; 8. Preparing various monthly financial account statements; 9. Maintaining effective & efficient system of internal controls complying with ADR guidelines; 10. Ensuring all financial practices are within guidelines as outlined in state or national laws; 11. Supervise process and execution of all payments. Ensure adequacy of documentation for all payments; 12. Ensure that all policies and procedures are refined in accordance with ADR�s and Donor rules and regulations to strengthen effective financial control. Desired Candidate Profile 1. Greater than 5 years progressively responsible experience in professional accounting, preferably in NGO sector. 2. Computer skills especially proficiency in MS Excel and comfort in working with Tally package 3. Familiarity with Indian NGO practices and accounting systems 4. Analytical skills and sound independent judgment in addressing accountancy & auditing problems 5. Handling e-mail clients like Outlook office & Outlook express 6. Special Skills / Aptitude / Personality Requirements - Methodical and thorough - Flexible and adaptable - Languages: fluency in English and Hindi is a minimum.
